Hope you all are doing great. I always wanted to use cleansing oil in my skin care and after using the Garnier Cleansing oil I got the feel of how a cleaning oil works for my skin. But after that budget cleansing oil, I wanted to try a good quality cleansing oil which is free of mineral oil. And that search for good cleansing oil from a good brand led me to the Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. I bought it on the SA’s recommendation and I feel I did the right thing by doing so.

My Experience with The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil:
Camomile silky oil is yellowish shade oil which is neither thick nor very thin. I take one pump of this oil on my palm, rub it between my hands and then massage it all over my face and neck for a maximum of one minute. As soon as it comes in contact with the makeup, it feels as if it is melting the makeup on my face, even the water proof mascara and long lasting makeup items starts to come off. When water is applied on it, the oil starts emulsifying easily. I do a small face massage one more time and then wash off my face with water completely. It leaves no traces of makeup and dirt on skin, skin feels light, clean and fresh. It makes skin feel moisturized too. But as I have normal to oily skin and I prefer my skin to feel less moisturized after a wash so I follow it up with a face wash. However, using face wash afterwards is my personal choice and that does not means that this cleansing oil is inefficient. For dry and normal to dry skin, there is no need to use any other face cleanser later is what I feel.
We cannot use this oil on the eyes to remove kohl like we use an eye makeup up remover, but other eye makeup which can be removed with closed eyes, like mascara, liner, eye shadow. As this oil moisturizes while cleaning, I feel good while massaging this near my eye area, no stretching or pulling, hence it feels very gentle for my skin. I also like how easy it is to wash off compared to the Garnier cleansing oil. It smells flowery and that is a very mild smell, which does not stay there after washing. I am using this for the last 2 months and it did not break me out.
The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil comes in transparent plastic bottle with a pump head. I have one issue with this pump and that is it dispenses the product straight out and not down as expected from a pump. So one needs to be careful while taking the oil out else you will end up wasting the product. Pump once opened is very hard to lock back. So with this packaging, this is not the best travel-friendly option you have. I wish TBS does something about the packaging to resolves these issues.
In totality, it’s great cleansing oil which is not as costly as many other options available in the market and is free of mineral oil unlike the drug store brands which makes it a great choice. I recommend this to everyone looking for a good cleansing oil for a good price. It works well for all skin types but dry and dry to normal skin types may love it more.
