My experience with Maybelline Wine Shine Wet Shine Wet Look Lip Color :
Packaging: The Maybelline wet shine lipsticks come in a packaging very similar to that of Maybelline color show or water shine lipsticks. Only difference is that these lipsticks come in a mauve color tube. The cap shuts tightly with a click and the packaging is overall sturdy. The sticker at the bottom denotes that shade name. it is compact and travel friendly.
Shade: When I bought it, I thought it would be a dark shade but I was surprised by how sheer this lipstick goes on. It definitely has a beautiful shine to it, hence the range name Wet Shine. The shade Wine Shine is a very beautiful wine shade with pink undertones, it looks almost like a mauve lip color. It is not one of those shades that can be too dramatic. It can easily by toned down by wearing two swipes or so as this is a pretty sheer lipstick when applied on to the lips. another thing I really like about this shade Wine Shine is that it is only two shades darker than my natural lips color and so whatever pigmentation there is on my upper lip, it hides it perfectly.
Texture, pigmentation and longevity: The texture is fairly smooth. It glides on to the lips effortlessly. If lips are not exfoliated before hand, this lipstick does accentuate fine lines but it doesn’t really set into them. It does not bleed or feather at all, which is a good thing. Despite being a dark and deep shade that Wine Shine is, it goes on comparatively sheer on the lips than when swatched on the hand. The shade does change a little bit on the lips, as compared to what it looks like in the bullet. I really like such sheer lipsticks because they are not only perfect to wear on an everyday basis, they are also quite moisturizing. This lipstick keeps my lips moisturized for a fairly long time. The shade stays on my lips for a good 4 hours and it starts fading and leaves no stain behind.
Pros of Maybelline Wine Shine Wet Shine Wet Look Lip Color :
• It is inexpensive.
• Nice mauve- wine shade that will compliment all Indian skin tones really well.
• It goes on kind of sheer on the lips and it needs to be build up. But it is a good thing as I like my lipsticks subtle. Also, it has a beautiful shine to it.
• Keeps lips moisturized.
• Hides the pigmentation on my lips.
• Travel friendly packaging
Cons of Maybelline Wine Shine Wet Shine Wet Look Lip Color :
• It is quite sheer and it needs at least 4-5 swipes to appear opaque on the lips. Though it is not a con for me, but it may be for some.
• Accentuates fine lines on lips
• It is a glossy lipstick. People who prefer mattes can skip it.
