Today, I am going to review La Roche Posay’s astringent (the name is so long!!!!) I have very oily, acne-prone skin. After seeing a lot of people swear by this product, I decided to get this along with the Effaclar Dua and the sunscreen. Let’s see how this product fared for me.
Tighten and unclog your pores with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Astringent Micro-Exfoliant Lotion. The micro-exfoliating lotion instantly reduces pore size and fights against blockages thanks to a combination of sebum regulating cleaning agents and purifying LHA. You are left with intensely refreshed and purified skin with an even and more refined texture. Use both morning and evening by applying to the face with a cotton pad.
INR 1190 for 200 ml.
My Experience with La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion:
Honestly, this is the first time I am using an astringent/toner. I have just used Fab India’s Rose Water before, which did a fairly decent job. So, I washed my face with my Cetaphil Oil Control Face Wash and I was pretty sure that I don’t have any impurities left on my face. So, I just dabbed some of this lotion on a cotton pad and wiped my face with it and oh boy! I could see so much of dirt and grime on the pad. These days because of humidity, I am not even using any compact on my face, so I can’t even say ‘Oh! That’s just some of my makeup!’ So yeah, it thoroughly deep cleanses the skin. I follow this up with the Effaclar Duo and I am sorted!
It comes packed in a big blue transparent bottle. The consistency of this astringent is exactly like water and it strongly smells of alcohol. After about a minute, the intensity of the smell subsides. The first time I used, it stung a bit, but now I am used to it. It doesn’t bother me much. Plus you need very little quantity of this. The quantity that you see in the bottle is the amount that is still left after using it for 15 days, twice a day, morning and evening! So, it’s total value for me!
Now, coming to what it did to my skin, I have a lot of acne scars on my face. By using this product religiously for 15 days, most of the lighter ones have gone and the stubborn ones have faded by a major extent. Also, during my time of the month, I get a few pimples, but with the help of this product, my pimples have gone within a span of 1-2 days without leaving any scar! Trust me, when I get a pimple, it stays on for about 10 days :/ But this product is my hero 😛
Oh and one more thing, my skin has become so baby soft, I know it’s not right, but I feel like touching my skin all day!! Plus my friends also have been complimenting me about how healthy and dewy my skin looks. It basically deep cleanses my pores, lightens scars, gets rid of pimples really fast, makes skin soft and glowy!
Pros of La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion:
- I don’t know how to write the pros for this product as it does all the good things to your skin that you can think of.
Cons of La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion:
- The only cons are the strong alcohol smell and the price, but trust me, once you start using this, you will know that it will last you for about 4-6 months. So, it is very economical.
Another word of advice, do not go overboard with this lotion on your face, as it will make your skin a bit scratchy.
PS: All of the above results were obtained by using this product along with the Effaclar Duo, so I would recommend you to use both of these products together to reap maximum benefits.
